Get online orders, fast!

Even in normal times, moving your menu online is a great way to increase sales by accessing a wider market and increasing average spend. While the online move is more of a survival technique during COVID-19, we might one day be thankful for this time to get our online systems up and running as these will only benefit our businesses into the future.

What is the fastest way to get online? Adopt one of the many ‘off-the-shelf’ e-commerce platforms available today. Shopify, Wix, Big Commerce, Squarespace, and 3dcart are some popular examples.

For a café/restaurant, a fully integrated POS and online ordering platform, such as Square or Kounta, is certainly the best way to go. Why? Orders, data and analytics are all in one easy to manage place.

Square offers a great system which is quick and easy to set-up, simple to use, easy to link to Facebook and Instagram, and offers fast deposits.

Quick Tip: Square offers custom pricing if you process more than $250,000 p.a. Simply call them to discuss your options.

Of course, once orders are placed you will still need to organise your own delivery. This means it is important to clearly define your service area, order cut-off times and days of operation. Perhaps talk to other local cafés/restaurants about sharing a delivery driver (best to check your cover with your insurance provider).

Thanks to some great ‘off-the-shelf’ platforms, getting your menu items online is easier and faster than you may think, and you don’t need a computer science degree!
